The ACCA Process
ACCA Manual “J”Room by Room Load Calculations
The plans are painstakingly entered room by room into a computer
program. Once all of the rooms are entered, the house is turned
to the worst orientation to the sun. The computer will then list
the precise amount of cooling btu’s and heating btu’s
required by each room. It also gives the total required for the
entire home.
ACCA Manual “S” Equipment Selection
Once the ACCA Manual “J” is complete the computer matches
the equipment to the required load from Manual “J”.
This insures the equipment sizing is correct.
ACCA Manual “D” Duct Sizing
The total equivalent length is determined of the worst case duct
run on both the supply and return side of the furnace. A math formula
using the TEL x airflow required by each room determines the size
of the duct and register required.
